Owner
Karrie Berger
Karrie ran her own in-home daycare from 1995 to 2014. Throughout the years she enjoyed building relationships with the children and the families she cared for. Karrie incorporated lesson plans and learning opportunities for the children in her care. Her goal was to make sure that her in-home felt like a home away from home for all families. In 2014 Karrie decided to open Lil' Tots due to the need of quality child care in Ankeny. While switching her direction from in-home to child care center, she knew she didn't want to lose that home away from home feeling. Ankeny Lil' Tots is a family owned and ran center, which is why she chose her daughter, Keyara, and daughter-in-law, Erica, to help run the center. With family helping run the center, Karrie knows that an educational and loving environment will always be the number one priority of Ankeny Lil' Tots.
Center Directors
Keyara Adams & Erica Abbott
Keyara and Erica have been with Lil' Tots since the doors opened in June 2014. Keyara and Erica have both worked in childcare centers since the age of 16. Their passion for working with kids extended beyond high school and led them to AS Early Childhood Education degrees. Being parents themselves, they recognize the type of quality care all children deserve. They want every child that enters the door to be excited to come to school and see their teachers and friends. Keyara & Erica see the need for a well-rounded center that provides a fun and nurturing environment with meaningful educational experiences.
On-Site Supervisor
Rachel Sheeks
Rachel has been with Ankeny Lil' Tots since January 2015. Rachel has her degree in Elementary Education and loves putting that to use as a leader in our Preschool Program. As a mother of two, Rachel decided to take on the role of preschool teacher so that she could come to work each day with her kiddos. Rachel is one of our on-site supervisors whose daily tasks include teaching our preschool program, office filing, and center tours.
On-Site Supervisor
Cassie Lee
Cassie has been with Ankeny Lil' Tots since October 2015. Cassie's years of childcare experience made her a great addition to our toddler team at Lil' Tots. After a few years at Lil' Tots, Cassie expressed interest in helping out with a few managerial tasks. While Cassie still remains part of our toddler team, you can find her at the front desk overseeing the center on Friday's.
